The Association of Teachers of Technical Writing required a design for their annual conference as well as something that could be used for the cover of the conference’s booklet. Focus of the design is on the different perspectives of technical communication. These are represented by the various arrows encircling the globe. As well as having relations to global communication and travel which both help to keep us connected on a cultural level. The various cultures one has to be mindful of when thinking about technical writing are also represented in the texture on the arrows, it is a collage of several world languages. Overall the design is meant to have the feeling of a technical approach to the subject while still keeping it clear that it is about global perspectives in technical communication.
